Historic photo of the Louisville, Cincinnati & Dayton Railroad which became the CH&D East Middletown Branch, looking east/north up the canal in Woodsdale. Even though the canal was much less used when the LC&D was opened in 1887, the railroad had to build on the uphill heelpath side. Note the narrow towpath at the left. North of Woodsdale the railroad wandered off the heelpath, so this could be near the entrance to Rentschler Forest Metropark as seen in the following photos.
