Duke Energy substation next to the Miami & Erie Canal right-of-way on Spruce Street in Elmwood Place, looking north. This building was probably constructed after the canal fell out of use, but the sunken area at the back makes it look like it may have interfaced with the canal. The purple minivan at the right is on the location of the towpath, and the canal trough would be to the right of that in the parking area. The canal itself was filled in for apartment buildings that were constructed in the 1950s or 1960s along with I-75.
