Streetcar Routes & Revealed Tracks
0002_DSC_0717
Revealed tracks on Woodburn Avenue in East Walnut Hills, looking north towards Madison Road. This is an interesting street rehabilitation project, one of the first in the city where the original granite curb stones have been dug up and reset in concrete, rather than simply removed and thrown away. On most roads like this, where those old curbs are still in place as originally installed, they've sunk or shifted, and in many cases they're too low to the street. It's nice to see those old stones reused. Note what while only 6-8" of stone appears above the roadway, these stones are a good 18" or more deep, and they represent a large investment from years ago. The overhead utility lines have also been removed, significantly improving the view of St. Francis DeSales in the distance.
