PRR/CL&N - Pennsylvania Railroad/Cincinnati, Lebanon & Northern - Indiana & Ohio, Blue Ash and Mason Subdivisions
0077_Cincinnati_LebanonNorthern-28
Idlewild junction at the intersection of the CL&N and the N&W lines to Portsmouth and the belt line to Ivorydale, looking northeast from Dana Avenue into Norwood. The empty ROW to the left was most likely CL&N, and farther to the left but out of photo is the existing N&W line to Ivorydale (former N&W/Cincinnati Connecting Belt). The N&W line to the right follows the curving warehouse mentioned in a previous photo and then runs through Hyde Park. The CL&N Idlewild station was close to the location of the silver relay boxes, probably just behind them, as was a small CL&N yard. There were quite a few concrete signal bases in this area, and the oldest looking one is probably from the tilting target installed to protect the CL&N diamond crossing which was behind the photographer. All of this has been demolished by Xavier University, though the ROW is kept open with some walking paths.
