CL&A - Cincinnati, Lawrenceburg & Aurora Electric Street Railroad
0044_IMG_0026
Historic Photo of River Road during construction of the new North Bend bypass in spring 1959, looking south from the old Harrison Avenue bridge at the Big Four railroad cut. When the 1888 cut was widened in 1903 to allow the CL&A to bypass the steep North Bend Hill on Miami Avenue, they ran slightly higher on the ledge that's visible to the left of the railroad tracks . That's where the highway runs today. The former grade crossing at Brower Road can barely be seen in the distance where there's a car about to cross. That would shortly be replaced by an overpass.
