C&W - Cincinnati & Westwood Railroad
0025_DSC_4567
Cincinnati & Westwood right-of-way between South Fairmount and Westwood, looking east. This is a very large fill that bisects a deep valley. It was probably a wooden trestle at one point, which was filled in as resources allowed. The dark ground is caused by coal cinders which were used as cheap ballast. There's a network of ATV or dirt bike trails through here, which is why the roadbed is so wide open.
