C&LE - Cincinnati & Lake Erie Railroad
0040_IMG_4811
C&LE freight siding at the former Shuler & Benninghofen Woolen Mill in Hamilton's Lindenwald neighborhood, looking west along Williams towards Pleasant. The C&LE had tracks on Williams and Benninghofen to serve industries and their Lindenwald power station, as well as to receive coal and to switch mainline freight cars from the B&O/CH&D about 1/4 mile east of here. Only the track between B&O (now CSX) and this building remains, with the remainder on Williams to the right and Benninghoffen likely removed at some point in the past for scrap. This siding was probably kept in use by the B&O with steam and diesel trains after the C&LE was abandoned.
